The
Sea Saw

In the depths of the desert God's
children had fled
Surrounded by Pharaoh and the water ahead
The water looked frightful but the army looked worse
Was their God going to save them from this terrible curse
With their faith in the balance and their
fate in God's hands
The water between them and the great promised land
The sea didn't know just what their God had in store
But obeyed his command and parted waves to the shore
Well history recorded every word of it
well
But I still believe there's something more the sea would like to tell
I want to see what the sea saw
When Moses stood beneath that watery wall
I want to know how it felt to behold
That awesome power that made the water unfold
It must have been a sight when Moses raised up that rod
To watch the water open where God's children would trod
By faith I can see but if that water could talk
I know it'd tell me what the sea saw |
