Revival Testimonies Below are testimonies from some of our revival attendees, we lovingly referred to as Revivalists. We appreciate their attendance and kind words regarding our revival. |
| My
name is Allison Kelly. I am a committed Christian who loves Jesus with
all my heart. My father, Phil Kelly, is a Southern Gospel singer,
songwriter and musician. I sing and play as well. Along with my Mother,
we sing as The Kelly’s.
My father invited our family to the Gospel Songwriters Revival. I can tell you that I was blessed and moved by the Holy Spirit every single day and night of the revival. One night, during the revival, my sweet boyfriend and I decided to venture off somewhere nice to eat. We looked at the time and feared we would miss Revival Service Saturday night so we threw the yum/expensive food in a box and left. If two 21 year olds leave a fun, exciting, yummy food restaurant because they know God is going to move in a mighty way that HAS to tell you SOMETHING! I battle Crohns disease. It is a terrible disease and I have one of the worst cases, but let me tell you, my God is GREATER! He has a great plan for this and I’m going to allow Him to use me. This being said, that night Uncle Mickey felt led to anoint anyone that needed prayer. I felt so burdened by the Holy Spirit to receive prayer from such a humble and obedient servant of His. When he prayed for me I felt a warm sensation from my head to my toes as though I was being refreshed inside and out by the Holy Spirit. Uncle Mickey and Aunt Rainie have been anointed by God. It is evident by just that weekend that they are obedient to the call and desires Christ has for their lives. They started this event not for themselves but for all of YOU. Don’t miss the 2011 Gospel Songwriters Convention; you will be robbing yourself of a blessing. By the way, Uncle Mickey and I aren’t blood related; I didn’t want anyone thinking I was being biased. That was the first time I ever met Uncle Mickey and Aunt Rainie. That should tell you something right there. God bless you all. Keep writing your songs; stay strong in your faith, never give up, and always PUT HIM FIRST! Love through Him, Mickey, Thank You for a fabulous weekend! I wasn't sure what to expect. I thought it would be a "seminar", a class. But as I've told people, "We had teaching, singing, and just plain ol' Church"! It was great to finally meet you. You
can only guess about a person until you at least meet them. Your spirit
and heart shown throughout this weekend, and revealed a man with an
enormous heart of giving to the songwriters. And if anyone makes the
claim that there's something in it for you, other than Heavenly reward,
I sure don't know what it could be. Brother, I appreciate you now more
than ever and anything I can do to help with any resources at my
disposal, I'll do it. . . . Brother Mickey, I most enjoyed communion with all my fellow Christian songwriters, it is such a sacred service, and I’m going over the words in my mind to the song “Who Am I”. Who am I that a king would bleed and die for ... makes me want to write a praise song. Second, I most enjoyed your preaching,
and all the rest was just icing on the cake!!!!! . . . Hi Bro. Mickey, There were so many nuggets -- getting
to meet Dee Gaskin, writer of "Come Morning", a song my mother
sang over 30 years ago -- the marvelous testimony behind Midnight Cry by
Greg Day --the tear-jerking testimony of Dusty Wells, which should make
all of us want to go door-knocking. It was intriguing to watch Kathy
Woodward in the process of developing what I believe will likely be a
Top 40 song. She and all the rest who had songs critiqued exhibited such
wonderful attitudes. I'm already looking forward to next year, and a happy reunion with all the wonderful friends I've just made. Millennium Maxwell House was a great
place to have this event. . . . Brother Mickey, Sister Rainie, Thank you so much for all you do. The revival/seminar was beyond words to describe. The knowledge, fellowship, and that sweet, sweet spirit that filled each and every day was so uplifting and inspiring. Again, thank you for the opportunity to attain information to continue to grow and be inspired for the work the Lord has for me to do. Frank and I thoroughly enjoyed this revival weekend and look forward to next year's meeting. Thank you again and God's blessings. . . . Hi Brother Mickey, The seminars were very informative and
helpful. We enjoyed Greg Day's songs, and the anointing of the Holy
Spirit was present throughout the revival. The healing service was very
touching, and on top of it all Dee Gaskin was there. Is she just the
cutest little lady or what! Ready for the next one! Do we have to wait a
year?? . . . Hi Mickey, I purposely waited three weeks for my "emotions" to die down before I commented on our 2010 Nashville Gospel Songwriter Revival. They haven't so let me say what a wonderful time we had together and with the Lord. I didn't want it to end. I wrote a song before I got home and several since then. You were right! It was unforgettable! I hope my "emotions" never die down. There's so much to say, write, and sing about our blessed Savior and my church is already benefiting from my being there. God bless you, Mickey, for your vision and the great work you're doing for Jesus. I'm so glad I signed up for next year before I left the hotel. I encourage all gospel songwriters to follow through with their calling, join us next year and be the best they can be for Jesus. . . . What a blessing the Mixon's and
GospelSongwriter.Com are in our family's life! The songwriter revival
was just what we needed to inspire and educate us. We also want to thank
everyone who attended and for sharing with us. Each and everyone are in
our prayers. . . . Mickey, I really enjoyed the revival, meeting and fellowshipping with other writers; being on one common level with the same goal in mind. Tammie and her sister are sweet and it was a real blessing meeting Dee and spending some time with her. You had a good staff to help; loved the Kelly’s. You sure had us all fooled and feeling bad with the skit but drove home your point, not soon forgotten. The freedoms that we were founded on and we're all about are under attack. Jesus is coming soon. I enjoyed the flight also; I didn't have a seat partner partway home so I was gazing down on the clouds singing songs about Jesus coming back on them. What a view. Thanks for praying over your writers, too. Good to meet you and Rainie. Thank you
for all you do to encourage the songwriter. . . . I just wanted to say you did a fabulous
job setting up everything. It was well put together and very
professional. . . . Hi Mickey & Rainie, Larry & I just wanted to let you know that we had an awesome time in Nashville at the Gospel Songwriter Revival!! We believe this is the beginning of many new friendships as well as open doors, not only for us, but for others who attended. Thank you both for allowing God to use
you in this way and bring all of these wonderful songwriters (and
spouses) together for a great weekend! . . . Thank you for the invite to join you in Nashville. Many things I enjoyed. I liked the healthy advice during the seminar; blessed with Communion, I thought it was a heart-felt evening. The guests, Greg and Dusty were not only a blessing but very educational. Mostly I enjoyed visiting with friends I already knew and getting to know new people that became forever-friends before the weekend was over. It is great when God's people get together. It was a nice weekend. |
