|
Schedule Our revival schedule is described below. It is divided into sections for easier reading. |
|
FRIDAY, March 5th |
|
Seminar ~ 4:00 pm Drawing: We begin our Friday seminar with a drawing. Along with other prizes, our winner gets a free dinner, with Dusty, prior to our Friday evening church service. If you win, you not only get to dine with Dusty, you may use this time to quiz him about songwriting, publishing, ministry and such or just enjoy his fellowship. Lesson: Mickey will be teaching our Friday seminar, a lesson entitled, “Get Inspired”. Most writers, including professionals, like to write when inspired. Mickey is going to show you, not one but, several ways to obtain inspiration. You’ll be amazed as Mickey shows you how simple and easy it is to get inspired to write. Dinner: After our seminar we will take a dinner break, and then get ready for our Friday evening church service. |
|
Service ~ 7:30 pm We begin our Friday evening service with music and worship. Song: Although Greg is not scheduled to begin ministering until Saturday morning he will be worshiping with us Friday evening. It has been requested that he sing his hit song “Midnight Cry”, he said he would be glad to, so he’ll be singing at least one song during our Friday evening service, and we look forward to hearing him sing that grand song. Preacher: Dusty is the guest speaker for our Friday church service. He is only scheduled to minister in this service and our Sunday morning Q&A session. Dusty has a fulltime, busy schedule so we are delighted to be able to book this prominent industry executive for at least Friday evening and Sunday morning. He has a lot to share and will no doubt be an encouragement and blessing to our attendees. |
|
SATURDAY, March 6th |
|
Seminar Saturday’s seminar will be in two sessions. Greg and Mickey will minister both sessions. Session One ~ 9:00 am Drawing: We begin our Saturday seminar with a drawing. Prizes will be announced but includes a free lunch, with Greg, during our Saturday lunch break. If you win, you not only get to dine with Greg, you may use this time to quiz him about songwriting, publishing, ministry and such or just enjoy his fellowship. Lesson: Mickey will begin our seminar by teaching on the subject “Gospel Songwriter’s Block, The Causes and Cures”. Whether you are a professional, semiprofessional or amateur songwriter you are sure to find this lesson informative and helpful as Mickey reveals the culprits of writer’s block and how to deal with them. Lesson: Greg will be teaching on the subject “Writing Commercially”. This is an important topic and will prove beneficial for writers who are working and/or struggling to get their songs employed. Lunch: We will break for lunch following our first session, and the winner of our Friday drawing will dine with Greg. After lunch we will recommence our seminar with our second session. Session Two ~ 1:00 pm In session two, Greg and Mickey will team-up to, publicly, critique the songs of several brave souls while the rest of our attendees get to listen, watch and learn. Greg and Mickey will critique one song at a time. They will play the demo, so everyone attending can hear each song, plus have the lyrics on the projector screen so everyone can read each lyric. While both will share their opinions, primarily, Greg will address the negative and point out what he believes does not work, what could be better, and why. Mickey will address the positive and point out what he believes works and why. Actually, if you are a student of the craft this whole session will be positive for you, especially if your song is one of the critiqued. Having an award-winning writer and prolific music publisher like Greg Day critiquing your song is a great opportunity. Who knows, this could be a door-opener for one, or more, of our critiqued writers. It will definitely be a valuable lesson to benefit from. Dinner: After our second seminar session we will break for dinner, and then get ready for our Saturday evening church service. |
|
Service ~ 6:00 pm We begin our Saturday evening service with music and worship. Song: Greg will minister in song. Honesty, integrity, faith and a desire to see people blessed, that’s Greg Day. We feel sure his singing and songs will bless and refresh you. Communion: After Greg ministers, we will move into a special segment of our service, we will share in communion. This will be unique, as we will participate in communion as a body of Gospel songwriters. We will also add a little something extra that we believe will touch your heart and strengthen your faith. You may never view communion quite the same after this, or at least never forget sharing it with your fellow writers at our revival. Prayer: After communion, we will move into another special portion of our Saturday evening service. This has been on Mickey’s heart for a long time. He feels led of the Lord to anoint and pray for God’s songwriters. Greg will assist Mickey, and they will anoint and pray for each attendee with grace and wisdom. Mickey said, “I sense the need to anoint and pray for the Gospel songwriters attending our revival. We will also, gladly, anoint and pray for the rest of our attendees but I particularly feel the necessity to pray for our writers. I want to pray for their spouses, too.” Preacher: Following our time of communion and prayer, Mickey will minister from the Word. He has a special message to share with Gospel songwriters. He desires for them, and believes they need, to hear this message, receive it and be blessed by it. |
|
SUNDAY, March 7th |
|
Friday and Saturday will be value-packed, Sunday will be too. Sunday's activities will consist of one church service, two seminars, two drawings, and a Song Sharing Session. Our Sunday morning service will be unique and challenging. Our afternoon seminar will include an exercise and class participation. After dinner, we will complete our revival with our Song Sharing Session. |
|
Seminar ~ 9:00 am Drawing: We begin our Sunday morning seminar with our third drawing. Prizes will be announced but includes a free lunch, with Mickey, during our Sunday lunch break. If you win, you not only get to dine with Mickey, you may use this time to quiz him about songwriting, marketing, ministry and such or just enjoy his fellowship. Q&A: Our Sunday morning seminar will be a “Question and Answer Session”. Dusty, Greg and Mickey will team-up to answer questions our attendees have about writing, publishing, marketing, and most anything related to Gospel music and ministry. Note: There will be no Q&A sessions during Friday or Saturday, only Sunday morning. List: If you have any questions you would like to ask please make a list. We believe our sessions and services may answer some of your questions but might also generate questions, too, so put them on your list as well. You will need to submit your list of questions by Saturday evening, so Dusty, Greg and Mickey can view them and be prepared to answer them Sunday morning. Questions: You will be permitted to ask additional questions during our Q&A but submitting your list of questions, beforehand, will assist Dusty, Greg and Mickey in answering your questions more thoroughly, which should prove to be more beneficial for you. Benefit: So, what are the benefits of a Q&A session? There are several benefits, here are three; (1) it gives attendees a direct opportunity to have their questions answered, (2) some attendees think of questions other attendees do not thus the other attendees benefit from those questions, and (3) some writers like to know what other writers are thinking and are inquisitive of. Break: After our Q&A we will take a short break. Following our break we will begin our Sunday church service. |
Service ~ 10:00 am We begin our service with Greg ministering in song. Preacher: Mickey will minister a special message that provides an extraordinary component to our Sunday service, which we will not describe here. Mickey said, “With the Lord’s blessing, this entire revival should prove to be memorable but this service will be, well, I don’t want to spoil the goody but I will say it’ll be inspirational and probably talked about for a few days afterwards.” Lunch: We will break for lunch at 11:00 am. Maxwell House Hotel checkout is at 12 noon, but for those of us staying through Sunday, we have more to enjoy and benefit from. We will recommence, at 3:00 pm, with our Sunday afternoon seminar. |
|
Seminar ~ 3:00 pm Drawing: We will begin our Sunday afternoon seminar with our forth drawing. Prizes will be announced. Lesson: Mickey will teach on the subject “Song Ideas”. He will explain how to find, create and develop song ideas. Song ideas are everywhere and Mickey will show you several ways to discover them as well as demonstrate how you can create them; you might be surprised how easy it is and will be amazed as Mickey reveals how to generate song ideas by using different methods, including your hands. Mickey will not only teach you how to develop song ideas but, as a bonus, will also share how to find and create fresh and unique titles and lyrics. Mickey said, “For some of our attendees, our Sunday afternoon seminar will be like winning the Jackpot. I’ll gift them several of my secrets for finding, creating and developing song ideas. And, we’ll spend time putting some of these secrets into action. It’ll be fun and I’ll enjoy seeing the expression on their faces when they discover how to generate song ideas by using tools as common as their hands.” While teaching a previous songwriter’s seminar, Mickey revealed one of his secrets and, seminar speaker, Laura Lewis interjected, “I never thought of that. I can’t believe you just gave away that secret.” Dinner: Following our Sunday afternoon seminar we will break for dinner and gather at one of the local restaurants. Surprise: We will have a surprise during our Sunday evening dinner. |
|
Song Sharing Session Following our Sunday evening dinner, we will return to our conference room and conclude our revival with a Song Sharing Session. Revival attendees will be given the opportunity to perform one of their songs for Mickey, his staff and our attendees. A piano/keyboard will be available, or you can bring your guitar. Also, a CD and minidisk player will be available for soundtracks. Please feel free to contact Mickey if you have questions about performing during our Song Sharing Session. |
Surprises & Anticipation As you can see, our revival has a lot to offer and will be a premium event. “And There Is More”. We have not shared everything with you, we have several surprises. Yes, we are giving you something to wonder about and to anticipate, kind of like Christmas. |
Family Spouses are welcome and invited to attend. Our revival was designed with them in mind. Teenagers, who are gifted, focused and serious about songwriting, are welcome to attend. Sorry, no nursery will be provided. While children may attend our church services, our event, especially our seminars, will be in a dynamic business/training setting thus will not be conducive for or appealing to children. |
Non-Writers While our revival is designed for and focused on Gospel songwriters, people who are not writers are invited to attend if they would like to learn, be blessed and support our writers and revival. |

What an exciting Event. I Count it a blessing to be a part of it. My Husband and I are looking forward to coming to Nashville to fellowship with Christian writers,
artists, etc. It's a Wonderful Opportunity to learn and be encouraged by others that understand your expression of love for God through Music. Praying that it will be a blessing for all. Marlene Pelt www.marlenepelt.com |

I am dreaming of becoming the Grandma Moses of Gospel Songwriting through the revival, but meeting others who are passionate about the Gospel is running a close second.

I can't wait to get to Nashville in March, meet Mickey and all the special guests. My husband and I are expecting this revival to REVIVE us in ideas, shortcuts, creative ways, learn from others mistakes, learn ways to take our music to the busy singers and they stop and listen to our songs. Finding out, or listening to others and their dedication, how they find song titles and hooks, finding out the style of songs that are being listened to today by audiences. A song can be good, even excellent, but if no one is picking it up to record, is it being used? I can't wait, I just can't wait. Linda Barton |

Both my husband and I are very excited about attending the
Gospel Songwriters Revival. He always encourages me in my writing but, as you
said, Bro. Mickey, this will give him an even greater appreciation for this wonderful gift God has given us.
I am excited because I know there is much I will learn and profit from this revival. You know, like anything else, you really do only get out what you put in. I wonder,
just how serious are most writers? I pray I never feel like I've learned all I need to.
God Bless, |
|
I have waited over thirty years for an
opportunity like the Gospel Songwriters Revival to take place. God
bless you, Mickey for all your efforts in making it happen. I've been
writing gospel songs for many years and have seen many souls come to
accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior while performing them in church.
What can I do to reach a larger audience? I can't wait to find out. I
am so excited to be attending your Nashville seminar/revival. My
desire is to be the best writer I can be for Jesus. I pray I'll
remember every word of advice and be able to apply all I learn in not
only the new songs I'll write, but the ones I'll be rewriting as well.
I can't wait to meet you and the other writers. See you in
Nashville!!!!

We need this revival so that we can write Spirit-filled songs. May God start a new spark with our group. Are you praying now for this revival? Lord, bless us!
