We are now serving Black Gospel, Bluegrass Gospel, Contemporary Gospel, Country Gospel, and, of course, Mickey’s favorite, Southern Gospel.

GSC served 145 artists in 2007, and started out this year with a bang. 2008 promises to be even better.

Happy New Year. GSC is still going strong. We celebrated our 7th year online last year and look forward to a great 2007. We are still tweaking our system and have some work to do but we are looking for a brighter and more successful future. Thanks for your interest, and God bless you!

Due to the current distress of our budget, portions of GSC are still under reconstruction.

Although our advertising budget has suffered, hindering us from placing ads in the media and trade magazines, we still average 15 artists’ Song Search submissions per month.

Several artists recently contacted GSC informing us they are recording quite a few of our writers’ songs over the next few months. Some have sent CDs of their latest project which include several songs from our writers. This week the group "By His Grace" sent me a copy of their new project; they recorded five of G-team member Dee Gaskin’s songs.

We are still in the mode of remodeling portions of GSC. Thanks for your patience.

We currently have over 70 songwriters providing songs for artists, so if you are an artist needing songs to record please visit our Song Search page.

Due to financial distress we have yet to streamline and remodel GCS as originally desired. Current plans are to proceed as soon as proper funding is secured.

Song Search is still available for artists requesting songs for review. Over 700 artists have used Song Search since March 2002. Click here for partial list of the artists who have used this service.

Due to remodeling delays acceptance of new G-team members has been suspended. Interested Southern Gospel songwriters may join our E-pal e-mail list so as to receive word when membership may resume.

Although we are still in the process of streamlining GSC the Song Search service is available for artists needing songs to review. Song Search was offline for several months. Since being back online 138 artists have logged on and requested songs, as of this posting. Praise the Lord; not bad, considering we have yet to resume advertising.

As of this date portions of this website will be under reconstruction, particularly the G-team and Song Search pages. We are streamlining this service by automating portions of this website. 501 Artists

When Mickey Mixon launched GospelSongwriter.com November 1, 1999 he could only guess how well his website would do. Since several folks indicated they thought his website would only last a year, maybe two, and not many artists would use his service, he did not keep perfect records of how many artists used his site. During the spring of 2002 Mickey realized "they" were wrong and began keeping better records.

During that spring, while looking through his modicum of files, Mickey estimated approximately 1,000 artists used his website. So, May 15, 2002 he began maintaining a better filing system. While he cannot prove it, it appears that, to this date, over 1,500 artists have used his website. However, Mickey's current, accurate, files show that as of today, Thursday, July 24, 2003, GospelSongwriter.com has served 501 artists. Praise The Lord!!!

Recently it was inquired of how much longer Mickey would provide his website. His answer? "Maybe a year, maybe until Jesus comes. I don't know, but I will keep better records until then."

Thanks to all the Southern Gospel artists and songwriters who have helped to make GospelSongwriter.com a prolific ministry in the Gospel music community.

Our 10^th annual Songwrite Seminar was successful. Gospel songwriters from Florida, Georgia, Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee attended with smiles on their faces and their hearts opened to receive. Our guest speaker, Kevin Hunt, shared a lot of information with our eager attendees. Mickey’s portion of the seminar was fruitful, as well. He shared scripture and exhorted the ministry of songwriting and Gospel music. Several attendees were so inspired they began writing new songs at the conclusion of the seminar. The buzz was, “We can hardly wait for next year’s seminar”. Praise the Lord!!!

Congratulations to G-team member Richard Calhoun for winning first place in the "Solid Gospel International Songwriters Search And Showcase". Richard's song, "Can't Say Enough", won a single song publishing contract and a guaranteed recording, and Richard won a special luncheon with G-team member Gerald Crabb. Praise the Lord!!!

Congratulations to G-team writers Chris Binion and Tery Wilkins for their number-one song “The Answer Is Christ”. Recorded and released by the Talley Trio, “The Answer Is Christ” quickly climbed the Singing News magazine chart to the top spot for March. Congrats guys. Job well done!!!

Congratulations to G-team member Reggie Lovorn. This weekend, his song “Looking Ahead” was featured on the syndicated, award-winning radio show The Gospel Greats. “Looking Ahead” is the title cut for the group Eastern Sky, and is soon be their latest radio single release. Reggie secured the Eastern Sky cut via GSC. Congrats Reggie. Keep up the good work!!!

Beginning January 2003, Mickey’s column “Tune-up” will appear in the Trade Review magazine. Although Tune-up will contain educational and inspirational content specifically geared for novice, amateur and semipro Southern Gospel songwriters, pro writers may find it an interesting read, as well.

We didn't expect many artists to logon during the Christmas holiday, however, we were pleasantly surprised and grateful to serve 40 artists this month. Praise the Lord!!!

Since launching GSC November 1^st 1999 literality hundreds of artists have used our Song Search service. At first we did not realize how significant our service would become so we did not keep accurate records of just how many artists have used Song Search. A recent, conservative, estimation gives indication that as many as 1,000 artists may have used our service since that November day. This year we decided to begin keeping records, and this summer we began tracking the monthly artists submissions. In August 34 artists used our service. There were 38 in September, 44 in October, and 59 this month. 59 Song Search submissions in one month is a record. We praise the Lord for these opportunities to serve and be a part of the Gospel music community and look forward to many more days of service.
