This page shares membership rules and regulation information, so please read all the information carefully as you will be obligated if your membership is approved.

By submitting your application you confirm you read all the regulation information provided on this page, and you accept and agree to abide by it.

Failure to abide by our rules and regulations is cause for membership suspension, cancellation and possible debarment.

Our rules and regulations are subject to change and will be posted on this page, so please revisit this page at least occasionally.

This Ministry

There are places, on this page, that Mickey Mixon, Mixon Ministries, Gospel Songwriter Magazine, GospelSongwriter.Com, the G-team and our staff are collectively referred to as “This Ministry”.

Administration

All content in GospelSongwriter.Com and Gospel Songwriter Magazine are subject to the rules, regulations and management of “This Ministry”.

Membership is managed by our administrator, Mickey Mixon. He retains all and full rights to approve, disapprove, suspend, cancel, disbar, and administrate all memberships regardless of applicant’s gender, ethnicity, religion, political affiliation, status, opinion, etc.

Use & Share

We respect our writers, their songs, information, etc., but "This Ministry" is designed for networking thus we use and share what our writers give us in order to assist in our promotions and generating opportunities for them.

If you are approved for membership (Bronze, Silver or Gold) your membership automatically grants "This Ministry" a nonexclusive right to use and share your name, contact information, songs, and such, with those who use our website, magazine, in our events, advertising, promotions, etc.

By having your content in our system, you are granting “This Ministry” permission and a nonexclusive right to provide and display your content for our users, as well as refer to and/or use your content in and for any promotional and advertising purposes, as well as our magazine, events, e-mails, etc.

Your photo, music, likeness, contact information, etc., may or may not be used in our advertising, magazine, events, or any format we choose for promotions, etc.

Your contact information is respected but will be made available to our artists and those who wish to contact you regarding you, your songs and your ministry.

Any comment, data, music, photo, etc., you submit to "This Ministry" via e-mail, postal mail, phone, in person, etc., may or may not be shared and used by "This Ministry" anytime and in any format.

Social Network

GospelSongwriter.Com is not a social network website.

Although some of our writers and artists become friends, fellowship and do business outside of this ministry the primary purpose for this service is song acquisition.

If you are approved for premium membership, please know your profile page is not the same as a social network profile page. You are not permitted to upload just anything on it; there are guidelines and restrictions, which are described below.

Uploading Content

Uploading content, that is not yours, into your G-team profile page and music player is strictly prohibited.

If you are granted membership, you promise and confirm you will only upload content that is yours, especially songs, and you will submit only your songs to our artists.

Obvious Gospel

The songs you upload into your profile page music player must be Obvious Gospel.

We promote the Gospel, not music that is borderline, that hints at the Gospel. Your lyrics must include the Christian vernacular.

We understand evangelism and trying to reach people with the music more so than the message, but that's not what this ministry is about. The message comes first.

If you disagree then, sorry, we can't help you, please don't apply for membership.

Secular

Songs submitted to our artists must be Obvious Gospel.

Songs uploaded into G-team music players must be Obvious Gospel.

Secular songs are strictly prohibited.

Submitting secular songs is automatic cause for membership suspension, cancellation and possible disbarment.

Our artists are here for Gospel music not secular. "This Ministry" takes this regulation very seriously.

Thus the name of this site: GospelSongwriter.Com

One Song

Premium members must have at least one song in their music player at all times.

Titles

Each music player has a field that displays song titles. Only song titles are allowed in the field, not names, tempo signatures, etc.

Coauthored Songs

You may upload and submit Gospel songs you have coauthored as long as you have the coauthor's permission and the coauthor is clearly aware you are doing so.

The coauthor must understand that “This Ministry” has no obligation, legal or otherwise, to the coauthor.

Instrumentation

If your songs include instrumentation that isn't compatible with the styles of Gospel music we serve then, sorry, we can't help you.

We are knowledgeable of our market and what our artists are looking for, it does you no good to upload music they aren't interested it.

Example: While we do serve Contemporary Gospel we don't serve Rock Gospel so if you have a rock guitar in your song then we can't help you. We serve Black Gospel but if your song sounds Hip Hop and the focus is on the beat instead of the message then, sorry, we can't help you. Please don't apply.

Profile Photo

A photograph is required.

We are strict and conservative concerning photos.

The photo has a specific purpose, which is to help introduce the writer and help imprint the writer into the artist's psyche during the brief time the artist is on the writer's page. Thus, we have certain photo regulations to help aid this process.

The photo may be professionally or nonprofessionally produced but needs to be sharp and clear.

A bust shot is required.

A smile and/or pleasant facial expression is required in your profile photo. You don't have to show teeth via your smile but our artists desire to deal with writers who appear approachable and cordial, and a pleasant smile helps identify you as such.

Face must be frontal view.

Face and eyes must be unobscured.

There’s an old maxim that says “The eyes are the windows to the soul”. It’s true. We look into the eyes of those we are communicating with face to face. We also look at the eyes in photos to evaluate, to become acquainted with or to reminisce. Thus, we require your eyes and face be unobstructed in your profile photo; no sunglasses, no glare and reflection on eye glasses that obstruct the pupils, no obstructing hair, shadows, etc. This is helpful to “This Ministry”, our artists and thus beneficial for you.

Note: Sunglasses or tinted glasses are permitted for members who are blind or have deformed eyes. Our administrator may require confirmation of handicap before agreeing to the exception of this regulation.

G-team member may appear professionally or causally dressed in photo but dress must be conservative, not mega Hollywood, nor fleshy, sleeveless, plunging neckline, cleavage, tank top, etc. (We are a conservative ministry)

Profile photo must only be of one person, the G-team member. Please don't use photos of you along with your family and fiends and pets, etc. Do not use photos which include things that are distractive and lead the eyes away from your face. YOU are the focus. You may include your spouse if he/she is your co-writer and frequently writes with you.

Note: Photos are subject to editing and deleting and profile page can be turned off if photo doesn't meet regulations.

E-mail Address

Third-party e-mail addresses are prohibited. Every member must have and use his/her own e-mail address.

You can expect to be contacted by “This Ministry” if your e-mail address is suspect or includes content that might suggest it isn’t your e-mail address.

If approved for membership, you must have an e-mailbox that receives e-mail from “This Ministry” and our artists without restrictions, such as a sender approval list. Respectfully, “This Ministry” and our artists don’t have time to respond and get approved for every e-mailbox of every writer and artist that uses “This Ministry”. You may consider an additional e-mail address that you only use for this purpose.

The e-mail address of every member is added to our G-team e-mail and eLead list, and also made available via our Profile Page Contact Form System so artists can e-mail our writers. Thus, members must keep their e-mail address status updated with “This Ministry” and in their Profile Page Dashboard at all times.

Up-To-Date

Membership application information must be kept updated with “This Ministry” at all times, especially member's phone number and e-mail address.

Failure to do so is cause for membership suspension, cancellation or disbarment.

E-mail Copy

A copy of every e-mail submitted to our writers via our contact form is automatically submitted to our office for Spam alert, administration and security purposes.

External Hyperlink

Gold members may include an hyperlink to their personal website or webpage in their G-team profile page.

However, it must be their own website or webpage, not one they share with someone else.

If the writer shares a webpage or website it must feature the writer or the writer must have a page or section on the website that solely features the writer.

This hyperlink isn’t to promote other people, ministries, businesses, etc., but the writer only.

Links are prohibited if this regulation is violated.

The exception will be for a husband and wife writing team.

Upload Deadline

Note: New members have up to 60 days to uploaded their content (photo and songs) into their G-team profile page.

The 60 day countdown begins the date the writer submits a membership application.

Membership will be canceled, and the profile template page deleted, with or without notice, after the 60th day.

Reapplying for membership, after cancellation, is at our administrator's sole discretion.

If you discover you will be delayed uploading your content please call and speak with our administrator, Mickey Mixon.

Solicitation

Business, product or service solicitation is prohibited between our writers and artists via our profile pages, contact form, eLeads, e-mail service, etc.

You may advertise via our advertising system and Gospel Songwriter Magazine, as long as your advertising isn't in conflict of interest with "This Ministry".

Violation of this rule is automatic cause for suspension, cancellation or disbarment.

Liable

“This Ministry” cannot be and will not be liable, legal or otherwise, for any possible copyright infringement in any form for any reason.

“This Ministry” cannot be and will not be liable for any royalties for any music loaded into and played via the G-team music player system, or used in any of our events, promotions, in our magazine, ads, etc.

Copyright and royalty issues are the responsibilities of the liable G-team member.

“This Ministry” cannot be and will not be liable for internet connection issues or any content that may be interrupted, lost or deleted due to internet, server and/or e-mail issues.

Conduct

Mickey believes G-team members reflect on “This Ministry” thus he appreciates all members conducting themselves in a professional, Christian manner especially when utilizing "This Ministry" and dealing with our staff, writers and artists.

To do otherwise is cause for membership suspension, cancellation or disbarment.

Demo

If your membership application is approved, Mickey may require you submit a 3 song demo for review and will e-mail you more information about demo requirements and how to submit your demo.

Each song must include at least one vocal and a guitar or piano/keyboard.

Lyrics are not necessary.

Our demo review requirement helps Mickey...
1) know you are serious about G-team membership
2) know which G-team style division to place you in
3) filter out people and companies that are not eligible for membership

Application

You must submit a G-team application (below) which requires your name, contact information and other pertinent information for membership consideration.

You must include your first and last name. Initials are prohibited and will automatically disqualify your application.

Upon clicking the Application Submit Button, in our application form, your application will be automatically e-mailed to our office for review and processing.

Please allow up to 14 business days for reply, it usually doesn't take that long but we allow for 14 days in case there are internet problems or Mickey is out of the office or he is processing a large number of applications, etc.

You are welcome to contact Mickey anytime if you wish.

Sentence Casing

When typing information into your G-team application please use regular sentence casing. Please don’t capitalize every letter you type into your application.

Capitalizing all the words in your application will make it difficult for our administrator to read and may cause the review of your application to be delayed and possibly rejected.

Mickey prefers regular sentence casing. Thank you.
