Seminars & Services Our convention has two major components, songwriter seminars and chapel services. Each day will contain both components, plus much more. |
Schedule Our convention schedule will be made available to our attendees upon arrival. However, below is a description of some of what you can expect to experience. |
FRIDAY 3:00 pm = Registration Confirmation We will have a registration table available for the confirmation of the arrival of our registered Conventioneers, as well as for distributing our convention program, etc. 3:30 pm = Orientation and Drawing We will use this time for Conventioneers to introduce themselves, as well as have our drawing and award our gifts and prizes. 4:00 pm = Seminar Minister: Mickey Title: Demo Secrets Mickey will share secrets all writers should know about song demonstrations, such as... - How To Get Demos Produced For Free Many writers fail to get their songs recorded because they don’t know these demo secrets. Mickey will reveal these secrets to you via this revolutionizing lesson. Mickey said, “Writers commonly reply with surprise and amazement when I share with them some of these secrets especially The Translation Factor, it opens up a whole new world for them. This entire lesson will be an eye-opener, I guarantee it.” 5:00 pm = Dinner Break There is a restaurant inside our convention facility, Praline's Restaurant. 7:30 pm = Chapel Service We’ll worship our Lord, Lewis & Lewis will bless us in song, and Mickey will share a message from God's Word entitled "Successful Songwriter". Note: Only pre-reregistered Conventioneers who reserve a guestroom in their name and lodge at Millennium Maxwell House Hotel are eligible for our drawing. |
SATURDAY Saturday will be info-packed with 5 seminar sessions. Mickey will be teaming-up with Ray and Laura to share a wealth of knowledge. 9:00 am = Session One Minister: Mickey Title: Labels and Accessories Mickey will use props to help share the content of this lesson. The correlation of song titles and lyrics are vitally important yet most beginners, amateurs and some semipro writers have yet too learn this valuable lesson. Mickey said, “Even some pro writers have yet to fully grasp the content of this lesson. It doesn’t mean they’re not talented but this knowledge is a vital tool and should be in every Writer’s Toolbox.” 10:00 am = Session Two Minister: Mickey Title: Nuggets of Knowledge Mickey will be sharing four Nuggets of Knowledge during this session, three nuggets he received from three writers and one he discovered on his own. 11:00 am = Session Three Minister: Ray Title: Crafty Creation 12:00 pm = Lunch Break We'll break for lunch before we begin our next seminar session. 2:00 pm = Session Four Minister: Mickey Title: Vocal Friendly Songs In this session Mickey will reveal what makes a song vocal friendly and how vocal friendly songs are desired by artists and why. Many songs have never been nor will ever be employed simply because they are not vocal friendly. Mickey will show you how to make sure your songs are vocal friendly. 3:00 pm = Session Five Minister: Laura Title: Onward Christian SoulWriters 4: 00 pm = Dinner Break We'll break for dinner and have a little time to rest before we enjoy our Saturday evening chapel service which should prove to be the highlight of our convention. 6:00 pm = Awards and Chapel Service Our chapel service follows the GospelSongwriter.Com Awards ceremony, and includes communion with our Conventioneers. Mickey will be ministering during our evening service and has something very special to share. Mickey said, “I believe every part of our convention will be a blessing but Saturday evening will be the highlight. I’m expecting God to do some wonderful things.” |
SUNDAY 10:00 am = Chapel Service Mickey has something unusual planned but won't disclose what it is until that morning. Mickey said, "I will tell you we plan to be away from the hotel for this service, and I promise you, our Conventioneers won't soon forget what we will experience that morning". 11:00 am = Lunch Break We invite you to join us for lunch at a local restaurant. Most of our Conventioneers will meet for lunch and we'd love for you to join us. 2:00 pm = Song Review Mickey and Rick will team-up and publicly review the songs of several, registered, Gospel songwriters while the rest of our attendees observe. They will review one song at a time, playing the demo so everyone attending can hear each song, plus have the lyrics on the projector screen so everyone can read each lyric. Having a successful publishing director, like Rick Shelton, reviewing your song will be a valuable lesson for students of the craft. Rick Shelton Interview Following our Song Review and a quick break, Mickey will interview Rick and ask questions which answers should generate helpful information our Conventioneers can use. Conventioneers will also be allowed to ask Rick some questions. 4:00 pm = Seminar Minister: Mickey Title: Prosperity Many writers have inquired of Mickey, “What can I do about collecting royalties from artists who won’t pay me?” In this seminar, Mickey will share insightful information about the royalty process as well as present an alternative solution he personally created. Mickey developed a program that will not only help songwriters make money but also help them get more of their songs recorded and help them generate more “Heavenly Royalties”. Mickey said, “Besides hiring an attorney and pursuing an audit or lawsuit, which are very expensive, there’s not much you can do about unpaid royalties. However, I believe this alternative solution will help; it won’t be the answer to everything, every artist and every writer but it will certainly open some doors and generate prosperity that would have otherwise been unavailable. Also, I believe this program will help some writers make more money than royalties would normally generate.” Mickey is considering packaging this valuable information and making it available for purchase but you’ll receive it for free when you attend this seminar. Dinner Break Immediately following our seminar, we will break for dinner before beginning our Jubilee!!! 6:00 pm = Jubilee Our jubilee is a song sharing session; registered, Gospel songwriters get to sing one of their songs for us. This is one of the "favorites" of our convention. Finale We will conclude our fabulous weekend with Mickey sharing his vision for the future of our convention as well as proclaiming a blessing and a prayer over our Conventioneers. And, of course, some of us will hangout for some last minute fellowship and refreshments before we repose for the night. We're going to have a great time, come join us. |
